Private training for puppy training, obedience, clicker training and behavioral consulting is available by
    appointment only.  We can't allow aggressive dogs into classes, however we may work with them privately.   
    Due to our busy weekend schedule of dog shows and seminars, many Saturday sessions will have skipped
    Saturdays.  You will receive a class schedule at the first class meeting.  We do not give refunds for any reason.
    If you are interested in registering for a class, you may contact us to request a registration form, or contact
    the agency below if the class is being offered through one of the recreation departments or the adult school.

    Class Schedules
    Puppy Preschool Socialization Class (6 weeks, 45 minutes to 1 Hour, $100)
    Wednesdays, Dublin, 6:00-6:45pm  (next session starts June 20, 2007)
    Thursdays, San Lorenzo, 6:00-6:45pm  (next session starts June 28, 2007)
    Saturdays, San Leandro, 11:00-11:45am  (next session starts May 5, 2007)
    Puppy socialization class is for puppies between the ages of 2 and 5 months old.  This class is designed to get
    puppies used to interacting with other puppies as well as new people and to help owners deal with puppy
    issues such as housebreaking, biting, jumping up and more.  Although we will begin working on some very
    basic obedience in a fun, encouraging way, the focus will be on socialization and puppy issues.  Owners should
    bring a 6 foot leather, nylon or cotton lead, buckle or snap collar and treats, as well as proof of shots.  Puppies
    must have had at least 2 shots and puppies over 4 months old must have had their rabies shot.  This is a 6
    week course.

    Beginning Obedience/Manners Class (6 weeks, 1 hour $110)
    Thursdays, San Lorenzo 7:00-8:00pm  (next session starts on June 28, 2007)
    Wednesdays, San Leandro 10:00-11:00am
    Wednesdays, Dublin  7:00-8:00pm  (next session starts on June 20, 2007)
    Saturdays, Castro Valley Adult 11:00-12:00pm (next session starts on June 30, 2007)
    Beginning Obedience is recommended for dogs 5 months of age and older.  This class is designed to help
    owners get control of their dog.  Students will be taught how to train their dogs to heel, sit, come, lie down,
    stand, stay as well as others.  Dogs do not come to the first class.  Different types of equipment will be
    discussed and recommended on the first night.  Owners must bring proof of shots to the first class.  
    Aggressive dogs may be excused from class.

    Beginning Obedience/Manners Class for Small Dogs (under 20 pounds)6 weeks, 1 hour, $110
    Mondays, Castro Valley, 6:00-7:00pm  (next session starts on June 25, 2007)
    This class is identical to the one listed above but is open only to smaller dogs.  This class is great for the little
    guys who may feel uncomfortable or intimidated by being around larger dogs. Dogs do not come to the first
    class.

    Intermediate Obedience (6 weeks, 45 minutes, $75)
    Saturdays, San Leandro, 9:00-9:45am
    Mondays, Castro Valley Adult, 7:00-7:45pm (next session starts June 25, 2007)
    Intermediate Obedience is for dogs who have successfully completed beginning obedience.  The intermediate
    class serves as a bridge between the beginning and obedience class.  It is designed to polish up the basic
    obedience skills in order to prepare the dog for more advanced obedience such as off leash work.

    Advanced Obedience (6 weeks, 45 minutes, $65)
    Thursdays, San Lorenzo, 8:00-8:45pm  (next session starts March 28, 2007)
    Advanced Obedience is for dogs who have successfully completed beginning obedience and intermediate
    obedience with me.  Dogs coming into advanced should be fairly dependable on the exercises taught in
    beginning and should be ready to do more advanced work.  The focus of this class is to begin introducing
    them to new things such as off lead work, hand signals and added distractions.  The dogs in this classes will be
    at different skill levels and all will work at their own pace.

    Wild Card Class (4 weeks, 45 minutes, $50)
    Thursdays, San Leandro, 7:00-7:45pm
    Wild Card will be a four session class where each class we work on a separate thing.  One week rally, one week
    agility fun, one week obedience, one week tricks.

    Competition Obedience Novice/Open (Drop in basis/$10 per class)
    Every other Tuesday (starting on March 13, 2007), San Leandro, 6:30-7:15pm
    Taught by Dawn Bushong
    This class is for students that have completed (at least) Beginning Obedience and are interested in competing
    in Obedience with their dogs. The class will focus on specific Novice and Open Class exercises.

    Rally Novice I(7 weeks, 45 minutes, $75)
    Tuesdays, Castro Valley, Charles Wilhelm Horse Stables, 7:30-8:15pm
    Taught by Dawn Bushong
    This class is for dogs that have completed at least Beginning Obedience class.  Rally Novice I is a beginning
    rally class.  Students will learn the different rally signs and do some beginning level rally courses.

    Rally Novice II  (Drop in basis/$10 per class)
    Every other Tuesday, San Leandro (starting on March 6, 2007), 6:30-7:15pm
    Taught by Dawn Bushong
    This class is a second level rally class for students who have taken Rally Novice I or who are familiar with the
    different rally signs.  The focus of the class will be on running through rally courses and being judged on them
    by the instructor.

    Agility Fun and Games (6 weeks, 1 hour, $100)
    Saturdays, Castro Valley, 12:00-1:00pm (next session starts June 30, 2007)
    This fun intermediate level class will teach people to learn how to navigate their dogs through some of the
    basic agility equipment including jumps, tunnels and weave poles.  Owners will also learn how to teach tricks
    and games that help dogs in agility courses.

    Real World On the Go Class (4 weeks, 1 hour, $50)
    Thursdays, Various Locations, 7:00-8:00pm (next session starts August 2, 2007)
    Meets are various parks and locations in the area
    The real world class is and intermediate to advanced level class designed to get dogs and owners working
    their dogs at different locations to continue to improve their skills.

    Delta Society Therapy Dog Program
    I am working to get some people and dogs certified as Delta Therapy Teams so that we can possibly do some
    group visits in the future as a Braveheart team.
    Free Orientation, Friday, May 11, 2007, 7:30-8:30pm  Orientation to help you decide if this is right for you.
    Actual Workshop, Sunday, June 3, 2007, 9:30am-4:00pm Explains the program and prepares you for
    evaluation.
    Evaluations, Sunday, June 24, 2007, all day, times to be announced  The actual test to become a certified
    team.

    Quiet Conversations-A Canine Body Language Class (2 sessions, 1 1/2 hour each, $40 or $20
    no dog)
    Wednesdays, San leandro, 6:30-8:00pm (next session May 23 and May 30, 2007)
    This class is for people who want a clearer understanding of what their dogs body movements mean in regard
    to their interaction with their owners, other dogs and other people.  This is a 2 session class, owners will be
    permitted to bring their dogs to one of the classes (Instructor will let you know which one) so that we have
    plenty of room for observing canine interactions.  Dogs attending must be pre-approved as off leash
    interaction will be involved.

    The Dog Who Came When Called-A Reliable Recall Class (1 session, $25)
    No Class Scheduled At This Time
    This class will teach you how to teach your dog a reliable, emergency recall.  Yes, really!  A handbook will be
    available and can be purchased for an additional $5.

    Conformation Training, Private sessions $25 per half hour
    Conformation training is dog show preparation training.  We offer the only clicker/positive conformation
    classes in the area and are referred to by many other trainers for our specialized approach to conformation
    training.  We are now offering conformation training and coaching on a private basis only now.

    Clicks for Tricks (4 classes, $50)
    No Class Scheduled At This Time
    Our Clicks for Tricks class is a fun class where you will be taught to teach your dog tricks using the clicker
    method.  Trick training is a lot of fun and a stress free, non-competitive way to have fun with your dog and
    learn more about dog training, specifically, clicker trainiing.

    Small Dog Social Play Groups ($7.00 per class, $20 for 4 sessions when you purchase
    discount card)
    Littles: Every Saturday (unless noted below) 12:00-12:30pm
    Toys: Every Saturday (unless noted below( 12:30-1:00pm)
    Littles is our play group for dogs and puppies from 13 to 25 pounds.
    Toys is our play group for dogs and puppies that are 12 pounds and under.
    Our social groups give dogs a chance to play and interact with other dogs in a safe, supervised, and controlled
    environment.  Dogs that we have not worked with may be subject to a temperament evaluation.  Play groups
    are held at our San Leandro facility.  Aggressive dogs will not be permitted at play groups. Check below to
    make sure we are having play groups for any given Saturday.

    NO PLAYGROUPS THE FOLLOWING SATURDAYS: NONE CANCELLED AT THIS TIME

    Canine Good Citizen Test (1 session)
    This test is an AKC event that offers pet dogs (purebreds and mixed breeds) the opportunity to show the
    public what a good citizen they are.  The Canine Good Citizen program is used to help recognize therapy dogs
    as well as to award good citizen pet dogs.  We will also test individual dogs by appointment only.

    Canine Good Citizen Prep Class and Test (7 weeks, 1 hour, $100
    Saturdays, San Leandro 9:00-9:45am  (next session starts on January 6, 2007)
    This class is designed to help students prepare for the Canine Good Citizen test which will be given on the last
    class.  We will focus on the CGC test items including sit, lie down, walk on a loose leash, sit politely for petting
    and grooming, be greeted by a friendly dog and person, deal with a noise and a visual distraction and more.  
    Dogs must have completed a beginning obedience and have some basics down.  For more information on the
    CGC test items, see CGC page by hitting the link above. Class cost without test is $75.


    Class Locations
    San Leandro Location
    San Leandro classes are held at our own training facility located at 2123 Marina Blvd., in San Leandro.  To
    register for these classes you must email me directly at braveheartdogs@sbcglobal.net or by calling (510)
    483-2631.  If you are interested in a class at this location, please get your registration forms in quickly.  
    These classes fill up!  Payment must be sent along with registration form in order to hold your spot.  Because
    of our new matted flooring which is ideal for the dogs, we ask that people only wear rubber soled shoes at this
    location.  Thank you!

    Dublin Location
    Dublin classes are held at the Emerald Glen Activity Center.  These classes are offered through the  City of
    Dublin.  To enroll in a class, call (925) 556-4500.  There is a non-resident fee for participants not living in
    Dublin.

    San Lorenzo Location
    San Lorenzo classes are held at the San Lorenzo Park located at 1970 Via Buena Vista in San Lorenzo.  These
    classes are offered through H.A.R.D. (Hayward Area Recreation and Parks District).  To enroll in a class,
    contact HARD at (510) 881-6700 or (510) 670-7276 and you can sign up either online, by fax, mail or walk
    in.  There is a non-resident fee for participants who don't live in Hayward, San Lorenzo or Castro Valley.

    Castro Valley Adult School Location
    Castro Valley Adult School Classes are held at the Castro Valley Adult School.  These classes are offered
    through the adult school (www.cvadult.org) and you must sign up for them through CV Adult.  To enroll in a

    Castro Valley Horse Stables Location
    Rally classes are held at the Charles Wilhelm Horse Stables located at  6496 Crow Canyon Road, Castro
    Valley (a couple of miles up Crow Canyon on the left hand side.  You MUST park down by the office, near the
    large arena.  These classes are offered through Braveheart directly, so you may sign up by contacting us
    directly.
