Vicki has been involved in puppy classes for over 20 years. We believe that puppy classes are among the most important classes that you will ever attend with your dog. Puppy classes shape how your dog will grow up and relate to other dogs, other people and you. We take great care in making sure that each puppy is socialized in a way that benefits him and protects his comfort level to ensure positive experiences at this critical period in his life. This is a "make or break" time in a puppies life that even one bad experience can greatly impact, this is why we do everything we can to make sure that our puppy classes give puppies the best start possible. Puppy socialization class is for puppies between the ages of 2 and 5 months old. This class is designed to socialize puppies with other puppies as well as new people and to help owners deal with puppy issues such as potty training, biting, jumping up and more. We also get the puppies started on learning the fundamental obedience behaviors such as sit, down, come and loose leash walking. Owners should bring a 6 foot leather, nylon or cotton lead, buckle or snap collar and treats, as well as proof of shots. Puppies must have had at least 2 shots and puppies over 4 months old must have had their rabies shot. This is a 6 week course. Candidates for Play Group are small dogs (under 20 pounds) that get along well with other dogs and people. New dogs will be evaluated at their first visit to determine if they are a candidate for our Play Group. Dogs that are aggressive with other dogs or people will not be allowed to participate. Dogs who are shy or fearful may be permitted to participate if the Play Group Supervisor determines that including the dog will be beneficial to that dog as well as other dogs in the Play Group. Our Play Group works well and is beneficial to many dogs, but there are some dogs who simply don't do well in large groups of dogs. Dogs who don't play appropriately or are too rough may not be a candidate for Play Group. Cost is $7 per visit, or you may purchase a discount card for $20 for 4 visits. |
